Well, we really goofed up over here at Pol Position. We got a very angry call about all of our wild speculating on that Beep lunch that we wrote about a couple of weeks back, and somewhere mixed in the vitriol, however, was a little nugget of information we thought we would share with you: That lunch wasn’t funded by taxpayers. It turns out that Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz is just as generous as he is enthusiastic about his home borough, and he picked up the tab for all of the delicious food and desserts that he and his four colleagues gobbled down at Junior’s while they talked business. Man, Marty’s never bought us lunch, although we have been to quite a few fancy fetes at Borough Hall, so we’re not complaining. Although, if we pay the salary of our borough presidents, isn’t technically everything they buy taxpayer funded? Anyway, we digress, we had a correction to get to, so here goes:
In our September 25, 2008, edition we mistakenly reported that Borough President Helen Marshall laughed so hard that milkshake came out of her nose. That was in fact not the case. Pol Position regrets the error.
There, now we can finally get a good night’s sleep.
