Priase for Tulsi

Dear Editor,

The crowded field of Democrat presidential hopefuls have produced a balance of well-recognized names, along with an infusion of newcomers.

Among the latter is the low key but articulate Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. A veteran combat participant in Afghanistan, she brings a vast amount of experience.

There is no arm-flailing, floor-pacing, or rabble-rousing gestures to enflame an audience with wild promises of unreachable goals. Instead, she has adopted a persuasive demeanor with the presentation of facts and possible solutions.

Her presence in the race has shown an unimpressive 2 percent support for her candidacy, but it has taken an unexpected upward turn from an unexpected source. Hillary Clinton has seen fit to take aim at Tulsi, accusing her of being a willing co-conspirator and “asset” to Russia’s attempt to disrupt the 2020 election.

As a third-party independent candidate, or spoiler if you will, she would ultimately siphon off enough votes to guarantee a second term election to President Donald Trump. It is a baseless charge insulting of the character of Gabbard’s service to her country.

Tulsi Gabbard has a grasp of what it will take to persuade a divided America into defeating an incumbent.
