New York City's oldest and largest pow wow – the Annual Mid-Summer Thunderbird Pow Wow – took place this past weekend at the Queens County Farm Museum in Floral Park. Now in it’s 34th year, the pow wow features three days of intertribal Native American dance competitions. Over 40 Indian nations are represented at the event, which is held in the apple orchard on farm grounds. In addition to the entertainment and competitions, a large selection of quality Native American art, crafts, jewelry and foods are also available.
